Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Hello Beautiful People! The holidays are here and I couldn’t be more happy for Walt Disney World Property to transform itself into all things Christmas. It literally is the most wonderful time of the year and my favorite time of the year with all the Christmas lights, decor, and snoap.

In December, it will be a year of when I first launched my blog, The Pixie Gypsy. My first blog post ever was about Christmastime at Walt Disney World. Click here to read about all the fun activities they have to offer.

Most of it is still the same with some new, fun additions. I’m going to write about each park of the fun activities they have going on for the holidays. In this blog post I’m going to talk about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). Grab some hot cocoa and a fuzzy blanket and let’s start talking about the most magical Christmas party this season.

MVMCP is a special ticketed event at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on select nights throughout the month of November and December from 7pm to midnight. There’s special meet and greets like meeting Santa, complimentary hot cocoa and cookies throughout the park, and even snow (fake snow lol). There’s even special shows that are worth seeing like Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, A Frozen Holiday Wish, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, and A New Fireworks Show. Magic Kingdom is pure magic around the holidays and being able to attend the Christmas party sometime this season makes it even more magical.

I’ve always attended the party in December with my sister, Chyna, and best friend, Emily, so we can truly get into the holiday spirit. The dates in November are less crowded in the beginning of the month but we always have a blast when we go in December. Like the Halloween Party you’re able to enter Magic Kingdom at 4pm with a ticket but we like to go a little earlier to ride some rides.

Entertainment

A Frozen Holiday Wish

Before the party officially starts there’s a presentation of the lighting of the castle by my girl, Queen Elsa. She does this twice throughout the night. At 6:15pm and 8:15pm. Here’s a secret if you don’t have a ticket for the party, you can stay to watch the first show before heading out. I like to watch the 6:15pm show to kickstart the party and stand close to the castle so I can see Elsa when she comes out and literally transforms Cinderella’s Castle with Sparkling Icicles. It’s something magical to get you into the holiday spirit.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade

This magical parade happens twice throughout the night: 8:30pm and 11:00pm. You have Mickey and his friends in their best holiday attire, toy soldiers, reindeer, gingerbread men, and Santa Claus arriving for the big day in this magical parade. The parade starts out in Frontierland and makes its way all the way to Main Street, USA. I like to catch the second parade on Main Street so I can get Cinderella’s Castle all lit up in the background.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

This fireworks show is new to the party and taking place of Holiday Wishes. Not gonna lie, I’m going to miss Holiday Wishes because it was so beautiful but I love our girl Minnie and know that it will be just as great. It’s at 10:00pm at Cinderella’s Castle and I believe any view of this show is great to see it.

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration

This right here is my favorite show of the night! Mickey and all of his pals invite their friends over for a epic Christmas party while they sing the best and classic Christmas songs that put you in the holiday spirit. The performances are at 7:40pm, 9:25pm, 10:30pm, and 11:55pm at the Castle Forecourt Stage. I recommend seeing the performance at 9:25pm or 10:30pm so you can see the other shows after.

A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas

This is a show in Tomorrowland at the Rockettower Plaza Stage! Filled with some of our favorite characters: Stitch, Buzz, and characters from Monsters Inc. dancing the night away with fun Christmas music. The showtimes for this performance are 7:45pm, 8:35pm, 9:25pm, 10:45pm, 11:35pm.

The Edge Effect

In between show times of A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas is the performance of a cappella group singing our holiday favorites. The showtimes are 8:10pm, 9:00pm, 10:20pm, 11:10pm.

Club Tinsel

Club Tinsel is my favorite place to be during the party. Throughout the entire party at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe are reindeer and the polar bears having a dance party. It’s so much fun. I definitely recommend stopping in there just to dance for a little bit.

Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jingle Jam

This is another fun dance party but for our little ones. Here throughout the entire party duration they can dance with their favorite Disney Junior characters!

Special Attractions

A lot of the attractions will be open throughout the party. There’s a few that will have some holiday overlays which I’m excited to do this year because most of them are new.

Jingle Cruise

This isn’t new for the Jungle Cruise but I ride it each year because I think it’s cute how they transform this classic ride to all things Yuletide with their jokes.

Space Mountain

My favorite ride will launch space travelers on a “trippy jaunt through the cosmos” with twinkling lights and holiday music.

Tomorrowland Speedway

Here we’ll “find yourself cruising a festive freeway filled with thousands of lights and stylized décor.”

Mad Tea Party

This attraction “becomes a wild and wacky Christmas party, as you spin your teacups to one of four new holiday combos of lights and music.”

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

The monsters will be putting some ‘ha, ha, ha’ in their ‘Ho, Ho, Ho’ during the Christmas Party.

Special MVMCP Treats

Something I like about the party is all the complimentary cookies and cocoa we receive throughout the party. I know it’s not a bunch of candy like Halloween but when it’s 42 degrees out that hot cocoa comes in handy. (And yes last year at the party it was 42 degrees out). Here’s a list of complimentary treats you can receive around the party. There’s also a gluten-free and allergy-free treats upon request.

  • Tortuga Tavern (Adventureland) – Snowman Soft Pretzel and Sno-Cone

  • Market Street – Mickey Santa Claus Sugar CookieThe Friar’s Nook (Fantasyland) – Silky Smooth DOVE® Chocolate and Sparkling Apple Cider (candies provided by DOVE® Chocolate and J&J Snack Foods)

  • Pete’s Silly Sideshow (Fantasyland) – Peppermint Crunch Cookie and Nestle® Nesquik®

  • Liberty Square Ticket Office – Ginger Molasses Cookie and Eggnog

  • Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe – Snickerdoodle Cookie and Hot Chocolate

  • Aunty Gravity’s Galactic Goodies – Santa Claus Cookie and Sno-Cone

  • Pinnochio’s Village Haus – Hot chocolate, Fanta, & assorted cookies

There’s also many seasonal treats to purchase during the party but I’m not going to list them in this blog post because I’m about getting all the free cookies lol. But I will say that typically for dinner I get the holiday burger at Cosmic Ray’s and attend Club Tinsel.

Meet and Greet with Characters

I know meeting characters is a big one for a lot of people when attending the parties but it really isn’t for me. I will say the person I love to see year after year is Santa Claus himself. Here’s a list of characters that you can meet at the party.

Photo Ops & Merchandise

There’s lots of photo opportunities to take throughout the party. If you’re a WDW AP you already get the photos so take advantage of that. If not, you can purchase the Memory Maker to get all the photos from the party in one place.

There’s also a lot of Christmas merchandise to purchase throughout the party. A lot of exclusive merch to Passholders, so make sure you use your discount for it and lots more. I personally always love the Christmas Ears and Spirit Jersey. Head over to my Youtube Channel to see all the Christmas Merchandise they have this year.

I know I gave you beautiful people a lot of info about the party and there’s still more out there that I didn’t go in depth but real quick to wrap things up here are some tips on how I plan out my night at the party.

4pm-6pm: arrive at MK, get wristbands, Meet Santa Clause, ride Jingle Cruise (fastpass)

6:15pm: Watch a Frozen Holiday Wish

6:30pm-9:15pm: Do the Ride Overlays, get treats, eat dinner, hang out at Club Tinsel

9:25pm: Watch Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration

10:00pm: Fireworks

11:00pm: Parade

Obviously you can do whatever is best for you but having a game plan is crucial when attending the parties. There’s so much to do and you want to make sure you’re able to do it. I hope you enjoyed this post about my favorite Disney Party. I’m so excited about the holiday season and can’t wait to share more holiday posts with you. Happy Holidays
