Christmas Time at Walt Disney World

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

It is Christmas time here at Walt Disney World. Honestly, the most beautiful and magical time of the year here. There is plenty to see and do here for the holidays and I want to share some of my favorite things to do around the holidays at Walt Disney World.

Let’s kick the season off by talking about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). It is a special ticketed event at Disney’s Magic Kingdom that has festive, Yuletide fun for everyone to enjoy during the holiday season. There’s special meet and greets like meeting Santa, complimentary hot cocoa and cookies throughout the park, and even snow (okay it’s snoap, but hey we live in Florida we have to get our fake snow somehow). There’s even special shows that are worth seeing like Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, A Frozen Holiday Wish, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, and Holiday Wishes. Magic Kingdom is pure magic around the holidays and being able to attend the Christmas party sometime this season makes it even more magical.

At Epcot, they currently have Festival of the Holidays happening. Around the World Showcase they have special holiday dishes and drinks that showcase different cultures and traditions around the holidays. Each country has their own special menu with holiday dishes, festive decor and music. Some special events occur each night like the Candlelight Processional, where a famous guest speaker comes to narrate A Christmas Story with a choir and orchestra in the background. There are festival entertainment at most countries and lots of holiday magic everywhere you step at Epcot. This is a stop you have to make while visiting Walt Disney World around the holidays.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues their new tradition of Jingle Bell! Jingle Bam! A night time production with fireworks, art production with animated characters getting us ready for Christmas Eve night. A New Sunset Greetings on Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror. It is an art production show that transforms the Hotel into Holiday cheer. With Toy Story Land opening this past summer you can expect that they had something special to show for the holidays. Toy Story Land is transformed like we are in Andy’s backyard for the holidays. Our favorite toys Woody, Buzz, and Jessie are all decked out for the holidays and even the toy soldiers “sir, yes sir!” My favorite item I’ve seen in TSL is the Alien Santa Popcorn bucket! Literally the cutest bucket with our boy Pluto too. New treats and drinks to try throughout Hollywood Studios and even some of the shows like Frozen gets into the Holiday spirit. Hollywood Studios is another go to park you have to see during the holidays.

For the first time in forever (lol) Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be celebrating special cultural holidays at the park. Up! Has a special show showcasing of Diwali, the holiday Festival of Lights in India. There’s Christmas decor everywhere that shows Animal Kingdom day to nightlife experiences. Lots to see and experience while you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

You don’t have to be in the Disney Parks to keep up with Disney at Christmas. Disney Springs have some Yuletide fun that needs to be enjoyed just as if you were in the parks. The Trail of Christmas Trees is one of new favorite things to check out at Disney Springs. You can meet Santa at the end of the trail. World of Disney is brand new and they’ll have all your holiday merchandise to get this season. Special food and drinks are throughout the Springs. Music entertainment is at every corner you hear and you can’t help but to smile while you’re shopping and walking through Disney Springs.

If you’re staying on Disney property please believe the holiday spirit starts there. Every resort is decorated for Christmas. They all have their own Christmas trees and festive fun for your family to enjoy during your stay there. Each Disney resort have there own special Gingerbread House to showcase. If you have time in between park days take the time to walk around the Disney property and take everything in. It truly is a magical place right from the start.

There’s a lot to do around Walt Disney World and I hope you get to experience it all with your friends and family. Have a wonderful holiday season.

Xoxo
