Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is one of my favorite places to go during the holiday season. Honestly, I never knew Epcot had an event during this time of year until I stumbled upon it two years ago and was amazed by all the festive activities they had to offer. Ever since then I knew I had to make this a tradition by attending this festival. This year it is running from November 18th through December 30th.
First things first, Epcot is known for having incredible dishes from different cultures around the world and we get a chance to taste every little bit from different countries on items that they would eat during the holidays. At Epcot, it’s called Holiday dishes and there’s 15 stands you can check these dishes at.
Here I am sharing some of my favorite dishes that I enjoyed at this festival. In the France Pavilion (Le Marche de Marche de Noël Holiday Kitchen) there is my favorite France drink, Spice Rum Punch Slush. It is Spiced Rum, Rhum Clement V.S.O.P., Orange and Pineapple Juice with Cinnamon. The cost of it is $10.75. I always love the France slush drinks and I love this even more because it’s festive.
In the Mexico Pavilion (Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen) I had to try the Noche Buena Margarita. The margaritas in this pavilion usually never disappoints and when I saw these descriptions I knew I had to try this. It is Libélula Joven Tequila, Cranberry and Lime Juices and Agave Nectar topped with Lime Foam and Sprinkles. The cost of this is $12. In my opinion it was so good. The perfect amount of tequila and they put a small candy cane to give it some festive character.
In the China Pavilion (Shanghai Holiday Kitchen) there was two holiday dishes I wanted to try so I got one and my sister got the other. I ordered the Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls for $4.75 and my sister got the Spicy Mala Chicken with steamed rice and a fortune cookie for $7.50. The egg roll was perfection and you got two rolls with it. The Spicy Mala Chicken was too spicy for my taste but the steamed rice helped cool down my taste buds for me.
In the Germany Pavilion (Bavaria Holiday Kitchen) I really had my eye on the Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce for $4.50 but it didn’t soothe my taste buds unfortunately. Even my sister felt like the taste of it was off. I love mushrooms and mushroom sauce but the top layer of the potato just wasn’t satisfying.
In the Italy Pavilion (Tuscany Holiday Kitchen) and my favorite pavilion, everyone in my group got the Cavatappi Ali Quattro Formaggi: Baked Four-Cheese Pasta, Parmesan Crumble and Truffle Essence. This seriously did not disappoint at all. My friends loved it so much they went back to get it again. It was the perfect amount of cheese and parmesan that it seriously tasted like we were in Italy eating it around the holiday kitchen table. It was so good you’ll definitely want seconds.
In the American Adventure Pavilion (American Holiday Table) I got the Slow-roasted Turkey with Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Cranberry Sauce. I typically don’t eat in the American Pavilion but I’m so glad I took the time to eat here today. It’s $5.50 and it was seriously like Thanksgiving dinner all over again. Every piece of food on this dish was cooked perfectly. The turkey had flavor, the green beans were delicious, and I always love mashed potatoes so this is a must when you go to the festival.
In the Japan Pavilion (Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen) I tried the New Year Celebration Soba for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. It is buckwheat Soba Noodles in Hot Dashi Soup with Chicken and Spinach. The cost of this is $7.25. The portion of it was perfect. Literally a huge soup to feel cozy in on cooler nights in Florida.
In the Morocco Pavilion (Sapphire Holiday Kitchen) I had the Andalusian “Poinsettia” Cocktail: Sparking Wine, Orange Liqueur and Cranberry Juice topped with Orange Blossom Water. I enjoyed drinking this cocktail. It was fun and festive and gave me a New Year kind of vibe. It’s $8.00 and I highly recommend it.
In the Canada Pavilion (Yukon Holiday Kitchen) I’ll be honest I started in Mexico and ended in Canada. With that being said after all the eating and drinking around the world I was too stuffed to try anything in Canada. What I had on my list to try was the Seared Salmon with Crown Maple Whisky Glaze, Parsnip Silk, Apple Chutney, and Hazelnut Croquant. I heard great things about it and that it’s really good. If you get to try it please let me know truly.
There are Holiday Destinations like Future World, Showcase Plaza, Norway, Outpost, United Kingdom, and Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company that have holiday kitchens too but I wanted to showcase some of my favorite dishes of this festival. Everyone go eat, drink, and be merry this Holiday Season.
