Park Bag Essentials

Summer is officially here and with that comes the Florida heat, humidity, and rain. So it gets very hot in the Disney Parks. In this blog post I’m going to suggest what should be in your Disney Park bag. I typically always take some kind of bag into the park unless I know I’m going to be in and out then I don’t for long security check reasons. I love taking a fannypack for short park days then my backpack for open to close park days. Now let’s see what’s in my Disney bag.

1. Fan

A portable fan is a must because I sweat so easily. Any type of fan that helps you stay cool is perfect. I highly recommend the Amazon VersionTECH mini handheld fan. It has three different power settings, rechargeable battery, and comes in different colors. It’s the best investment I made to stay cool this summer.

2. Cooling Towel

My cooling towel is my second best investment. You can get one of these at any department store but I got mines from the Disney Parks. They have blue and pink ones with Mickey’s all over it. All you have to do is wet it, ring it out, activate it, then put it on your shoulders or whoever to stay cool. It’s a game changer on a hot day in the parks.

3. Umbrella/Poncho

It’s rains every day in Florida during the summer. Typically in the afternoon so having both an umbrella and poncho are good to have so you don’t have to stop having fun in the parks. I got my dinosaur poncho from the T-Rex Restaurant in Disney Springs.

4. Autograph book/pen

If you have children then they definitely want to meet characters. So it is wise to have an autograph book and pen handy when meeting these iconic characters. Any autograph book would work. Mines is a Minnie Mouse one from the parks.

5. Sunglasses

It’s very sunny in the sunshine state. So having a pair of sunglasses is great to keep the sun out of your eyes on hot, bright days.

6. Fuel Rod/Portable Charger

If you’re like me, you’re going to be taking lots of photos, booking fastpasses, etc. So my battery life isn’t going to last a full Park day. It’s good to have a portable charger at hand. I recommend the FuelRod Disney offers throughout all the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. You can even get them at a few airports too. It’s a portable charger that you pay up front for $30 at the kiosk. It comes with a cord for both iPhones and Androids. Once there is no longer any juice in the rod you can go to a kiosk and exchange it for a new one for free. That’s a great investment because you get unlimited amounts of the charger. Highly recommend getting a FuelRod when you’re at Disney.

7. Reusable Water Bottle

A reusable water bottle is another must. You have to stay hydrated when you’re outside all day. There’s plenty of water fountains around the park to refill your water bottle. You can also go to any quick service and ask for a complimentary cup of water.

8. Lanyard/Pins

I’m slowly collecting pins but for my pin traders make sure you have your lanyard and pins ready to trade with cast members. You can trade with any cast member on property up to two pins I believe.

9. Popcorn Bucket

You can bring snacks and drinks in the park but I like to snack on popcorn. So I always pack my popcorn bucket for a refill when I want a snack in the parks.

10. Mickey Wallet

Can’t forget your wallet and spending money. I have this small Mickey wallet lanyard where I keep my license, annual pass, and cards in for easy access. I like that everything is in one place and it’s not bulky that takes up too much room.

Obviously you can pack less or more than what I suggested but for a typically open to close Disney Park day, this is what’s in my bag. Have a great summer beautiful people.
